Excellent CPU for the money I don't usually play current-year "AAA" games. I play The Division 2, Modern Warfare on occasion, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017), stuff like that. When CPU-bound, this CPU can play all those games smoothly at 100+ fps. MW does bounce between 80-100fps, but that's more of the exception. I use a Dark Rock Slim 180w tower cooler for this CPU, and while gaming the temps stay at 58C and lower. Power draw is about 63W under load and as low as 3W while idling...so intel has done an excellent job at min/maxing the power draw. As far as the turbo boosting goes, I run this on a dirt-cheap B460M motherboard with no heatsinks on the VRM, and it has no trouble boosting to 4,293mhz while gaming. Even at that, the cheapo VRM only gets up to 56C with this CPU. Can't say enough about how good a job they did with this CPU as far as power management goes. This was the cheaper option between this and the Ryzen 3600 when I was shopping. I'd say if this is cheaper, 100% get this. The only thing I can think to complain about is that my 3200mhz RAM kit will only run at 2666mhz. It should be able to run at 2933 with this CPU and mobo combo. (I didn't buy the ram for this build, it was just leftover from another project, so I through it in here and saved myself buying new ram)
