We all have heard about the Memory in Computer or better known as RAM (Random Access Memory). We usually associate DIMM Memory Module as the standard RAM which has many versions over the ears named as DDR2, DDR3, DDR4 etc..

Now we are being introduces to a entirely new type of memory module known as CAMM Memory Module. The shape and size of this module is entirely different from the previous versions we had adn now it sits kile a LGA type of socket on the motherboard with contact point on both motherboard and memory stick itself, now I think about it, it's not a stick no more and it will be better to call it a chip or some sort, but we have to wait for a while to get a proper term for this as it is still in its development phose and some of the companies has introduced the module where Dell and Kingston being one of them. This type of memory aims to solve the problem of laptop memory being limited and avoiding soldering it onto the board itself like apple does. It also serves benefit in Small form factor (SFF) PC buids as RAM is no longer the issues for interfering with the Cooler or other components in such a cramped place.

There is still time till we find the full usage of this type of module as manufacturers are still in the development phase and it will take consoderable amount of time till this module is standardized.
